We set out to make the most durable work pants that would cause the least environmental harm. To get the job done, we started with the original source material for cordage and work cloth: industrial hemp. The durable foundation of the Patagonia Workwear line, our innovative Iron Forge Hemp Canvas Double Knee Pants are made from a strong and supple 12.9-oz 55% industrial hemp/27% recycled polyester/18% organic cotton cloth that‚s 25% more abrasion resistant than conventional cotton duck canvas and needs no break-in. As one of the world‚s strongest natural fibers, the hemp content provides superior toughness and durability; the recycled polyester and organic cotton provide a soft hand and allow a tighter weave for increased abrasion resistance. A roomy fit and gusseted crotch offer comfort and range of motion for hard work; the contoured waistband sits comfortably under a tool belt and has seven belt loops for extra heft if you‚re clipping tools to a regular belt; the pants close at the front with a zip fly and top button. Two front drop-in pockets have horizontal gussets that hold an everyday-carry knife or tape measure, and the two deep drop-in back pockets are big enough to hold hand tools and serve as a double fabric layer for extra durability. The doubled knees have bottom openings that accommodate knee pads and allow easy cleanout, and the wide pant legs can be worn over boots or tucked into boot tops in wet conditions. Inseam is 32. Fair Trade Certified‚ sewn.
